The need for treatment of kidney diseases was felt for a long time in this metropolis as the patients had to travel to far-off places for quality care. B. R. SUPERSPECIALITY HOSPITAL was then established in the year 1993, as the first dedicated Urological Setup in the state of Uttar Pradesh, as a small clinic. In the busy location of 80 Feet Road which is centrally located & only 3 Kms. from G.S.V.M. Medical College, Kanpur with all hospitals like Cardiology, Chest, Paediatric & Cancer, etc., it is well connected by all means of transport and only 7 Kms. from Kanpur Central Railway Station and 5 Kms. from the Interstate Bus Station.
The centre has several firsts to it’s credit. The centre can boast of performing the first Ureterorenoscopic(URS removal of Ureteric Stone in 1994 followed by the first Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy(PCNL) in 1995. Later, Lithotripsy(ESWL), with admission facility was started in the year 1998, under the name of B.R.Stone Clinic.
The centre has organized several scientific meetings, free TURP camps & has been training paramedical staff in Endourology & Laparoscopy which was started in the year 2007.
The work performance & Scientific studies by the centre have been presented at both the National & international level scientific conferences, which has brought laurls to the city.
The centre is fully equipped with two modern Operation Theatres and has state of the art facilities for treating Urolithiasis. The centre has facilities for admission of patients and in-house diagnosis regarding the ailments.
B.R. SUPERSPECIALITY HOSPITAL has further added all general specialities like Medicine, General Surgery, Obstretics & Gynaecology, Orthopaedics, Radiology, Pathology & Microbiology, Social & Community medicine, etc., for better care of patients, In-House Radiological & Pathological investigations have been added.
